Your browser preferences determine the site language. A manual choice is remembered on this device in local storage and in a preference cookie valid for one year. Geolocation is not needed.
Guest trials
You can start two Instagram collection attempts without an account or email address. An essential HttpOnly, SameSite guest cookie identifies this browser for up to one year. The server stores a hash of its random token and the number of used attempts; reloading does not reset it. Starting collection uses an attempt even when the source returns no usable data. Trial reports are private to that browser session and expire after 24 hours. Available trial reports can be moved into your account on registration or sign-in, subject to available history space. Clearing cookies or changing browsers loses access to this trial session. Session-creation abuse is limited with short-lived hashed network identifiers; raw IP addresses are not kept in this application store.
Optional Good Tools emails
At account creation you may choose to receive Good Tools news, product updates and offers by email. This choice is optional, unchecked by default and does not affect access. We record the choice, time, wording version and language with the account. The account email is not verified by this version. Change or withdraw your choice in Email preferences, or contact hello@usegoodtools.com. Deleting your account removes the preference from active storage. No mailing service receives the address through this consent form.
Your account
Email is used as the account identifier. Passwords are stored as salted derived keys, never plaintext. An essential session cookie is inaccessible to JavaScript and expires after seven days. Signing out revokes that session. Email is an unverified account identifier. Recovery uses single-use backup codes stored as hashes. Generating codes invalidates previous codes. Recovery or a password change revokes all sessions. Login abuse counters expire after fifteen minutes. Collection quotas use a hashed account identifier and reset on the next use after the UTC day changes.
Reports and notes
Requested account links are sent to the server and, for configured networks, to the configured public sources. Optional imported files are sent to the server for validation and recalculation. The normalized report and notes are kept in the account’s private history. Reports saved to an account can only be opened by a signed-in user of that account. Account-free trial reports remain tied to their private browser cookie. Downloaded and shared copies remain under your control.
Retention
Each report expires seven days after saving in Free, or ninety days for internal Paid tests. Official API reports and YouTube reimports remain limited to seven days. Its expiry date is shown in history and does not change when switching plans. Expired reports become inaccessible immediately and are purged on the next service activity or by a daily task, normally within 24 hours after expiry. A service or quota outage may delay physical deletion; the operator must restore this task. Account data remains until deletion. Operator-created backup copies must be purged within seven days. Cloudflare recovery copies may retain deleted state for its recovery window of up to thirty days. A restoration must reapply deletions made since the backup; the operator is responsible for performing this procedure.
Platform images
Public previews load directly from Google/YouTube, Meta/Instagram and TikTok image domains. Those platforms receive your IP address when an image loads. Passwords, notes and private report URLs are not sent through these images. Images may expire.
External services
Collection uses official YouTube, Instagram and Facebook APIs subject to authorized access. If the operator enables free public TikTok embeds, Cloudflare opens those public pages to retrieve a sample of up to ten posts. Brand search terms and requested account usernames are shared with Google, Meta or TikTok for the selected network. Public TikTok links are also sent to Cloudflare for reading; your Lean Metrics password and notes are not shared. No paid provider or access-bypass tool is used. When AI creative review is enabled, a sample of up to three public images or Reel covers, together with the public account name, is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI (Llama 3.2 Vision and Llama 3.3). Private notes, emails and access credentials are not sent to the model. Generated suggestions are stored with the report until expiry and are hypotheses for review. Videos and unseen carousel slides are not examined. Competitor Facebook access requires Meta approval; TikTok requires the free Cloudflare allowance to be enabled. LinkedIn has no automatic connector. Imports and demos do not call social platforms. Source links open only when you choose them. Fonts are served by this site; no Google Fonts request is made. The public Lite plan is free with no payments or automatic renewal. No advertising trackers are integrated. Daily aggregate counts of server actions (account creation, collections, imports, opens, exports, errors and contact clicks; visits on the Node server only) are retained for 31 days, without identifiers, IP addresses or report contents. Contact clicks do not establish email delivery.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics loads only after you opt in through Analytics preferences. Visits and actions use fixed tool IDs and formats. Brand searches, account links, emails, passwords, notes, report IDs and report contents are never sent in these events. Declining stops measurement and removes this domain’s GA cookies. Consent choices are separate on each Good Tools domain.
YouTube
Lean Metrics uses YouTube API Services. Use is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. YouTube statistics are shown without derived metrics. This version does not request user OAuth access.
